I was asked by my principal to make a cake for school. I know our big push this year is looking at a new reading model. I wanted a cake that would guide us in this new direction..
At our first teacher work day My principal was stuck on saying “It is what it is” So this is what I created for one of our teacher lunches.. It was a hit!
This was a 9″x 13″ sheet cake covered with marshmallow fondant. Fondant was rolled out on the cake board then the cake was placed on top. It was iced with a thick layer of butter cream icing then the cover was closed over top of the icing . The pages were piped on with #16 star tip and the fondant bookworm was added. The banner was also rolled fondant however, I used edible markers to write “It is what is it is!”
